Summit Credit Union Headquarters

Summit Credit Union’s new six-story, 152,000 square-foot headquarters reflects their commitment to inspiring members through financial education and stewardship while promoting sustainability and wellness. Designed in collaboration with Strang, Inc., the state-of-the-art workplace showcases Summit’s values of community, creativity, and well-being, creating a dynamic environment for both staff and members.

Fire Trol’s Contribution:

Peter Tang, Executive VP and Chief Design Officer at Strang, Inc., emphasized the importance of Fire Trol’s columns in the project: “Key to the design solution was the use of Fire Trol’s prefabricated fireproof columns along the entire length of the curving exterior window plane, enabling the structure to remain slender and proportional to the other design elements in the space.” Strang’s architects sought to incorporate a park-themed branch that inspires Summit staff and members toward creativity, collaboration, and celebration. Tang adds, “The rhythm of the structural columns, ceiling clouds, window mullions, lighting, and HVAC ducts in this space was carefully synthesized to create a comfortable and inspiring environment.”

• Inspiration and Collaboration:
  Summit’s values are visible throughout the building’s design, which includes indoor and outdoor breakout areas, themed spaces, and an “Inspiration Theme Park” credit union branch. These elements foster collaboration, creativity, and celebration, reflecting the company’s forward-thinking vision.
• Wellness in the Workplace:
  The design focuses heavily on promoting physical and mental wellness. Outdoor seating, walking paths, volleyball courts, and green roofs offer employees a connection to nature, while indoor spaces like the fitness center, yoga studio, and the Be Well Cafe further encourage a culture of health and community.
• Sustainability:
  The building is LEED Silver certified, reducing water and energy consumption. Features like enhanced air circulation, green-friendly materials, and a 17,500-gallon rainwater harvest system underscore Summit’s dedication to environmental stewardship.
• Bold Design:
  With vibrant colors, unique textures, and a variety of multi-use spaces, the headquarters blends fun and functionality. No area is left “standard,” instead each space reflects Summit’s dedication to creating a vibrant and engaging workplace.
