Keene State College

Keene State University has proven that after 30 years, the Fire Trol products are durable enough to stand the test of time. In 1994, Fire Trol provided steel columns for The Campus Center at Keene State in Keene, New Hampshire.

William Rawn Associates designed the 75,000 GSF building, receiving the 1996 IES Illumination Design Award.  The architects focused on seeking common ground; creating spaces that foster interaction among individuals from varied backgrounds. The three-story atrium provides a gathering place for a variety of building functions: a multi-purpose performance and banquet space, bookstore, post office, meeting rooms, food court, administrative offices, and even a night club. 

The integration of Fire Trol columns provided an aesthetic, no-maintenance, fireproofing solution that remains relevant 30 years later.  The interior and exterior slender columns integrate seamlessly to anchor the design.
